Melodynamic Studios operates https://melodynamicstudios.com. This policy explains how information is handled when you browse our website, contact us, create an account, buy products or services, or activate Melodyn software. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to melodynamicstudios@gmail.com.
Information we collect
- Accounts and purchases: the name, email address, username, account credentials, billing or shipping details, phone number, and other information you provide. Store records can include products ordered, payment status, transaction references, refunds, download permissions, and license assignments.
- Messages and projects: information you send through our contact form or email, including correspondence, order details, and any project files or listening links you choose to share for audio services.
- Technical information: IP address, browser and device information, pages and products visited, referring pages, approximate location, timestamps, and security or error logs. Our website and its service providers process this information to operate the site, understand traffic, and investigate abuse.
- Public submissions: where comments or product reviews are available, your submission and display name may be published. Avoid including private information in public submissions.
How we use information
We use information to manage accounts, process and deliver orders, calculate tax and shipping, provide downloads and licenses, answer questions, perform requested audio services, maintain records, improve the website, and prevent fraud or abuse. We also manage marketing preferences and communications through the services described below.
Where an applicable law requires a legal basis, these purposes can involve performing a contract or taking requested steps before a purchase, meeting legal obligations, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the business, or your consent where required. You can withdraw consent for future processing without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
Payments, delivery, and service providers
PayPal and the payment methods it makes available handle payments offered through our checkout. Information needed for a transaction can include your contact and billing details, order amount, transaction identifiers, and fraud-prevention information. Our store receives payment status and references; entering payment information into a provider's payment interface also subjects that information to the provider's privacy practices.
Information needed to run the service is also handled by our website host, authorized administrators and support providers, email services, tax services, and shipping or delivery providers when applicable. WooCommerce and related Automattic services support store and tax features. If an order identifies a separate seller, information necessary to fulfill that order may be available to that seller through the site's vendor tools.
Relevant provider notices include PayPal and Automattic's notice for visitors to sites using its services.
Website email and Google account access
Melodynamic Website Mail is our website-email application. It connects the studio's own Google account to WordPress through WP Mail SMTP to send account, order, support, and other website messages. Customers do not need to connect their Google accounts to receive these messages.
Once authorized, the connection accesses the studio's sender email address and available sending aliases, and sends message recipients, subjects, bodies, and any attachments to Gmail for delivery. The plugin's requested Gmail permission is broader than sending alone and can permit reading, changing, or deleting mail; its configured purpose here is website email delivery and sender identification.
The website stores the connection's authorization tokens and sender details so it can continue sending authorized messages. Authorization passes through WP Mail SMTP's connection service. Google and recipients' email providers process delivered messages under their own practices. The studio account holder can revoke access in Google Account permissions; this stops future authorized access but does not recall messages already sent or automatically remove existing records or backups.
Google data obtained through this connection is used for these email functions, not sold or used for advertising or general-purpose AI training. Handling of that Google data follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. See also Google's Privacy Policy and WP Mail SMTP's Privacy Policy.
Melodyn licenses and device activation
When you use the device-bound Melodyn activation system, the plugin sends your serial number and a hashed device identifier to our activation service hosted on Cloudflare. The identifier is derived on your computer to distinguish licensed devices; the raw machine identifier is not sent in that activation request. A hashed identifier is still a persistent identifier, not a guarantee of anonymity.
The licensing service records license status and device activations to validate licenses and manage activation limits. The store can associate a serial with your account or order. Cloudflare also processes network information such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the service; the activation service uses a hashed IP value for rate limiting. The activation request does not include your music, recordings, project files, or account password.
A signed license is stored on your computer for local verification and offline use. Activation records may be retained while needed to support your license, handle support requests, and prevent abuse. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
Mailchimp, marketing, and shopping carts
Our store is connected to Mailchimp. The current integration syncs contact and customer information, purchase information, and shopping-cart activity, including records for customers who have not subscribed to marketing emails. This supports store audience management and cart-recovery features. The integration can keep an email address and cart contents for up to 30 days to restore a cart across visits or devices.
Having a record in Mailchimp does not by itself establish consent to promotional email. You can use an unsubscribe link in a marketing email or contact us to ask that we stop using your information for marketing. Necessary account, order, security, or support messages may still be sent. See Mailchimp's Privacy Statement for its handling of information.
Cookies, analytics, and third-party content
WordPress and WooCommerce use cookies and similar storage for sign-in, shopping carts, checkout sessions, and preferences. Payment and security services may also use cookies or identifiers to help prevent fraud.
Jetpack/Automattic provides site statistics. This can involve page views, referring URLs, browser information, IP addresses, timestamps, and country information. Our current Jetpack setting honors browser Do Not Track requests for statistics. This setting does not control every other service used by the site. See Jetpack's privacy information.
If a page contains a third-party player, video, image, or other embedded content, that provider may receive your IP address and browser information and use its own cookies, particularly if you are signed in to that provider. External links lead to sites with their own privacy practices.
You can manage or delete cookies through your browser. Blocking cookies may affect sign-in, carts, payments, and other features. Browser cookie controls do not necessarily stop all server-side data sharing, including the store's Mailchimp integration.
Retention and security
There is currently no fixed automatic deletion period for account and order records. Records remain until they are removed or anonymized through an administrative review or a verified request, subject to obligations to keep information for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, disputes, and license support. Contact messages, project correspondence, and related files are retained for the work or support relationship and related recordkeeping. Public comments or reviews can remain until removed. Service providers and backups may have separate retention periods.
We use HTTPS connections and restricted administrative access to help protect information. No website, email system, or storage method can guarantee complete security. Please do not send passwords, complete payment-card details, or unnecessary sensitive information through our contact form or ordinary email.
Your choices and privacy requests
You can review available account details through My account. Email melodynamicstudios@gmail.com to request access to, correction of, a copy of, or deletion of information associated with you. We may need to verify the request using information connected with your account or correspondence. Some records may need to be retained for legal obligations, dispute resolution, or the provision of an ongoing license or service; we will explain any applicable limitation.
Depending on your location and the laws that apply, you may also have rights to object to or restrict processing, withdraw consent, opt out of certain marketing or sharing, appeal a decision, or complain to a data-protection authority. Contact us to exercise these rights. Removing account or license information may affect downloads, support, or activation services associated with that information.
Our providers may process information in countries other than your own, where privacy rules may differ. Applicable transfer requirements and the providers' safeguards apply to those transfers.
Children and policy updates
This website's accounts, purchases, and services are intended for adults. If you believe a child has supplied personal information without appropriate permission, contact us so we can investigate and address it.
We may update this policy as the site and its services change. The date above identifies the latest revision. Material changes or new uses requiring consent will be addressed as required by applicable law.
